Thinking Outside The Graham Cracker

S’mores are synonymous with camping; you can’t have one without the other. When loading up your RV with all the necessary survival ingredients, don’t forget the accouterments for a delicious s’ more.

Many of us have only ever consumed one kind of s’ more – the traditional chocolate and marshmallow smooshed between two graham crackers. If you are tired of the old, traditional ways of eating your s’more, you are in the right place.

Cheers to trying new things and expanding your s’ mores pallet to include all kinds of wild ingredients like bacon and Nutella! Who’s hungry?

Candied Bacon S’mores

Yummy gooey salty sweet Candied Bacon S’mores

Graham cracker + dark chocolate + marshmallow + candied bacon

You had me at candied bacon. Coat some strips of bacon with brown sugar, place on an aluminum foil-lined baking sheet, and bake in a 375 – 400°F oven for about 15-25 minutes, until the bacon is crispy. Transfer to some paper towels to cool, and boom… candied bacon.

Banana S’Mores

Banana boat S’mores

Banana + small marshmallows + chocolate chips + optional walnuts

You will wow your friends and family with this creative take on the S’ more. Sure, it’s a little more work, but it will be worth it later when you are scooping the goodness out with a spoon.

Use a knife to slice through the peel and carve out a thin strip along the curve of the banana. You want to leave one end intact so you can put it back in place once it’s stuffed. Pull back the peel then use your knife or a spoon to cut out about a third of the banana, creating a little canyon.

Then fill it with heaping mounds of marshmallows and chocolate chips. Put the strip of banana peel back in place. Take your foil and wrap it around the banana. You want it to be fairly tight so everything stays in place.

Plop it on the grill or in your campfire and wait for the magic to happen. After about 10 minutes on the grill, remove the foil and peel it back.

Strawberry Nutella S’more

Nutella Strawberry S’mores? Yes Please!

Chocolate graham cracker + strawberry + marshmallow + Nutella

Have you ever met a fella who doesn’t love Nutella? Did you know that you could circle the world 1.8 times with the amount of Nutella produced in one year? So why not use some of that Hazelnut chocolate goodness and spread it onto your graham. The nice thing about bringing Nutella onto an RV is it is easy to transport and can be kept outside of the refrigerator.
